The High Tide in November while an object lesson in Man's inability to tame the forces of nature was thankfully not quite as bad as the worst predictions. That was scant consolation to a number of beach hut owners but manna from heaven for a number of local handymen/builders. Its an ill wind which blows nobody any good!

Another demolition job has been the old sports pavilion: home for some 40 years to Southwold rugby, football and cricket clubs. After a couple of false starts and a long hard slog we have raised the £375,000 necessary to replace it with a new purpose built structure. A big thank-you to all those who have made this possible. Completion is estimated for 30th June 2008. The official opening will be 28th September 2008. Progress can be viewed here:
